Labelling
Accurate and informative labelling of garments is an ethical responsibility of the manufacturer: it is clear that it is a prime objective to enable environmentally sound outcomes, and the extension of life of the garments. This is a subject to which Swedish multinational retailer H&M has paid attention apropos of Ginetex (the International Association of Textile Care Labeling) who has developed a series of label instructions entitled clevercare⢠for customers to advise them on how to care for their garments in a more environmentally aware manner:
⢠Donât wash your clothes too often
⢠Lower the temperature when machine washing.
⢠Think of reducing the amount you tumble dry.
⢠Ironing only when necessary
⢠Use Dry Clean only when necessary
